EBIMS™ was conceptualized by Mr. Sachin Agrawal in early 2000. Let’s hear it in his own words:
“In my early years of technology management, design and support of technology infrastructures for various small to mid-sized organizations, I was often entrusted to manage ‘everything’ in Technology. Well, when you talk about ‘everything’ in Technology, it usually goes beyond technology and quickly starts becoming more of a business unit which needs to be managed as a business. As with any other business unit, the ultimate delivery an Executive should expect of Technology is, complete alignment to business goals through the use of efficient systems. This is when, the discussions pertaining to Internet Service Providers (voice/data carriers), in-house networks, SaaS (Software as a Service) Development, IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), Software Applications, ‘build’ versus ‘buy’ etc. start becoming more relevant.
What I realized quickly, was a lack of a cost effective management system for small to mid-sized organizations. The solutions that I considered, either required Band-Aids or couldn’t be procured without shelling out in the upper thousands of dollars. As a result, I ended up writing processes for management and using stove-piped systems. It worked but as expected, quickly started becoming a management nightmare. Finally, Enterprise Business Information Management System was born.
Since project inception, there has been over 50,000 man hours spent in the project, multiple version releases and a constant addition of new modules to expand its offerings to support every unit an Enterprise. EBIMS™ is undergoing an aggressive development plan with new feature releases frequently and my goal is to allow our product users an “Enterprise class system at a lowered cost of ownership.”
To better understand EBIMS™, let’s consider analyzing a few points to see if you are facing any of the following challenges either as the end client or IT solutions provider, managing various accounts:
Above is just a few functionalities listed to give you a perspective of the power of EBIMS™.
It is far too cumbersome for any business to manage all the information pertaining to their organizations technology, providing them one snapshot with the required information at a click. As a solutions provider, we come across this challenge quite often.
Let’s consider an example. A question we ask to our prospects during technology assessment – “Do you have your network documentation?” Often the answer is ‘no’ or pops up the question ‘What exactly do you need?’ Further investigation reveals that, in most cases, either the information is not present, or is scattered all over the place. In some cases we get to hear “Our network support company has that information.” Digging further, it is not at all surprising to receive only partial information or outdated information from the support providers. In organizations where in-house support is present, this information is either scattered or a Band-Aid system could be present to manage them, again just providing partial information.
In today’s world where technology is a major component of your business, why should such critical information not be available on demand? This is the exact challenge Mr. Agrawal faced during his career managing and providing hands-on support to several small to mid-sized organizations. We extensively looked for a solution and realized that what we needed, either existed after integration of several stove piped systems or the solution that would have costed thousands of dollars with additional dollars required in customization and implementation. This is exactly why we developed EBIMS™, a cost-effective way for organizations to manage their contacts, their vendors, any project, tasks, assets etc. and provide such information on demand. We extensively use this application in-house, to support our virtual CIO model; manage our clients, projects and all vendors providing services to our clients.
